I spent the first 13 years of being a mother thinking I’d never experience having a little girl. I had 3 boys and that was that. 13 years of mud, worms, plastic army men, and race cars. Not a Barbie doll in sight. I am a girly girl so this took some time for me to adjust to. When my oldest son was 13 I discovered I was pregnant with, yes, a GIRL! I was delighted! Don’t get me wrong, I love and enjoy each of my boys and wouldn’t trade them (most days, lol) for anything, but girls really add a different dynamic to life (and lots more drama). Those of you who have a boy and a girl know what I’m talking about. The picture above is just one example. We’ve had this fish tank and the same two goldfish for almost 10 years. Yesterday when I walked by it I did a double take! There were lilies floating on the top! It was very pretty. My daughter (now 6) decided that the fish tank needed some pretty lily pads so she picked some from the garden and placed them as she saw fit. What a nice change from the crawfish my boys used to throw in there!
