How long will you wait before you begin to take possession of the land that the LORD, the God of your fathers, has given you? Joshua 18:3
Procrastination. I really don’t like that word probably because I’m quite guilty of it and the word alone is convicting. Most of us procrastinate on some level with some area of our life. Whether it be cleaning out the fridge, excercise, or calling that friend we haven’t seen for a while, we all fall victim to our own procrastination at times. I have a whole slough of excuses too: “The fridge will just get messed up again, why bother”;
I’m to tired to exercise today”;” my friend is probably mad at me anyway”. But did you know that to procrastinate shows a lack of discipline, poor stewardship of time and, in some cases, disobedience to God? The first thing I’ll be doing today is praying for the focus to clean and organize my fridge, the energy to hop on my treadmill, the courage to call a friend who might be mad at me, and the discipline to follow through with each. God wants to bless us but we must do our part to reach out for those blessings.
If you want to make an easy job seem harder, just keep putting of doing it.
